The Novartis Innovation Prize: Assistive Tech for Multiple Sclerosis

Readers of this blog know that I employ technology as a means of navigating my way through life with advanced MS. So, when Novartis asked me to help them determine a winner for their Innovation in MS contest, I jumped at the chance.

I reviewed 50 applications, and I was absolutely blown away. Somehow, we reduced the list to 10 finalists, and eventually one winner and one runner-up, with prizes of $250,000 and $50,000, respectively.

The winners were to be announced at the SXSW Festival in Austin Texas on March 13. Kim and I would be in attendance and we would spend a few days enjoying the festival. But, alas, that was the weekend when a microscopic virus shut America down. The festival was canceled, and Novartis put off the announcement until a few days ago.

And, the winners are…click here.

  1. Read the book ( enjoying the ride) so bad – if you’re like The Daniel steel you’ll like the book- life is not like that . It sucks to wake up every morning and not be the person that you were and nothing is going to change every day you’re supposed to find some enjoyment you’re not being able to walk around pick up things do you things that you want could …you do not enjoy the person you are and nor does the world around care…….they shoot horses..but them out of misery.

    1. Linda, I’m so sorry you didn’t enjoy the book. But all I did was write the truth about my life. I realize I may be the exception, but the book is not a lie. It’s not fiction. It’s my life. Somehow, I’ve managed to find enjoyment despite everything. I completely understand people who just aren’t as fortunate, which, sadly, is most people. I certainly didn’t mean to insult anyone, and if I did, I apologize.

PS: I’ve never read a Danielle Steel book 🙂
